Message | Mr Speaker, Our party's statement is that while some part of this bill is right, most of it is wrong. The first and the second article - we have to disagree. Monarchy has always been one of aspects that make our country great and it is deeply rooted in Luthorian tradition. Democratic control of power in the Holy Empire is already large and it functions well, we don't need further democratisation. We would rather focus on decentralisation, deregulation and privatisation. The third article - we have to disagree. Not only would this cost the Luthorian citizens much money as the Diet members have large salary (which is a subject for another bill) - it would also bring chaos to Diet sessions. Please just imagine if there were twice as much of us in this room! And the representativeness of the Diet wouldn't even change. The fourth article - we can agree. Longer terms would bring more stability to the political situation and could allow the government to think more of the future. If we were to vote on this bill in its current form - we wouldn't vote 'yes'. We would probably abstain. I yield. |

Message | I am firm on a larger number of representatives. Perhaps that may stay at the expense of articles 1 and 2? |

Message | Mr Speaker, Well then, our party would accept increase of the Diet seats' number, but to no higher value than 600 and only with simultaneous decrease of the Diet members' salary to at least national average. I yield |

Message | //an old man enters the podium Thank you, Mr Speaker. Well... The bill has been returned to us for debate... and this is great because before we start voting, I want to raise an important issue. First let me introduce myself. My name is Harold Eiffel, I am a representative from Yodukan, elected from anti-left list. I am also the First Vice-president of the Luthorian Grammar Nazi Society. I have studied our Constitution recently and I have found a horrible mistake! There is an extra dot in the Diet's name... Or "the Diet.'s" name. Just see! //starts reading the Constitution "There shall be a legislature for the Holy Luthori Empire, called the Holy Imperial Diet., in which all legislative powers under this Constitution shall be vested." "The Holy Imperial Diet."! There is a dot where there shouldn't be one. And this dot has to go away. I demand changing the name "The Holy Imperial Diet." to "The Holy Imperial Diet". I yield. |
