Bill: The Pharmaceutical Drug Research Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertarian Citizens
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 3916
Description[?]:
At the moment, the Government subsidises the research of pharmaceutical drugs, but it does not regulate their prices. We believe this is an example of legislation at the service of corporations and not of the Beluzians. Libertarian Citizens believe in the subsidising of pharmaceutical research: the health of our citizens clearly benefits from it. However, if the people of Beluzia invest in new drugs, they have a right to deicide, or at least have a say in, how much they will pay for them! We propose to change it to: The government subsidizes research and development of prescription drugs and regulates their prices. |

Message | No. Simply no We do not understand the barrage of legislation that the Libertarian Citizens insist on debating in congress that do nothing more than endanger the economic environment two consecutive NFP-BCR governments have fought to create. We will not undo the regulatory system we've created which protects industry, keeps government out of business decisions, and makes government as uninvolved as possible. Less not more regulatory agencies is a good mantra that the LC should keep in mind. |

Message | LC are simply spotting the weaknesses of an opportunistic coalition. We understand the nerves, however. |

Message | Does the LC seriously believe that a government coalition which has successfully controlled both the Presidency and the Prime Minister's chair for over four years now is born out convenience and not out of serious policy proposals? This seems like naivety, a quality which seems to run rampant among supporters of LC. We invite the opposition party to look at its history books and see the great strides that the NFP-BCR coalition has taken to drive Beluzia forward into a free-market, federalist, and just nation, and to respect them. |

Message | The LC believe in moving forward but we want to be able to look back in pride, knowing we have been fair and responsible to what we leave behind. If this coalition carries on this way, it seems to us there will be little grass that won't be burned, very few prisoners to free and very little left to change. |

Message | Industrial regulation is hardly ever the answer to the aches and woes of our nation and its people. We should focus on preventative care and other medical attention which is already subsidized for those who can't afford it. We see no reason to regulate drug prices when medical treatment is already subsidized for those who would need lower drug costs. |

Random quote: "Soldiers are not the enemies of the movement. They're potential allies. They're more than that. Soldiers are the only people in America who are paying a stiff price for this war. Everybody else profits. Soldiers are the ones losing their lives, losing friends, having their lives disrupted. The real victims of American imperialism are its soldiers." - Fred Gardner |
