Bill: Sexual Rights Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Royal People's Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3925
Description[?]:
Thoouts Aksiomatikos Our current policies on obscenity and sexual relations are hopelessly out of date. I hereby present a plan to reform these laws. It's time to explicitly legalize crossdressing and interracial sex to show that the government will not prosecute these practices under any circumstances. Taking no position leaves these rights open to violation in the future. There are multiple communities in Irkawa that dress in a traditional, minimalistic fashion that would be considered borderline nudity by some. We should confine these people to these styles of dress just inside their communities; to do so would be showing disrespect for traditional Irkawan ways of living. Prostitution should be legalized. Our current policy does nothing to prevent the practice and prohibition and lack of regulation encourages the use of prostitutes who may be victims of human trafficking. Government oversight and regulation would help to solve this problem. Finally, bestiality will be made illegal. I'm not even going to bother explaining this one. Message | Thoouts Aksiomatikos, We don't see any reason to expand the size of Government and legalise and enforce frankly unnecessary laws. Cobura is a liberal,multi-cultural society and any who oppose cross-dressing or miscegenation will find it very hard to get any public sympathy. We agree on public nudity, the current law is unfair to certain Coburan cultures. As for bestiality, as a country boy myself, one of a country boy's first loves is usually a farmyard animal. Let's not rob country boys and girls of these innocent encounters. (Laughter) Seriously though, someone venerating a sacred animal could easily be accused of bestiality and many followers of certain religions could be harassed over this. We would be opposed to that bill Prostitution is a noble and even holy institution in some religions. It is well established that sacred prostitution was a key feature in certain ancient Irkawan cults. It certainly should be legalised and taxed like any profession. Opposition politicians could find something to do other than crow about the privatisation programme (Laughter and hissing on some benches) Patos Ghali Vizier of Education and Culture |

Message | Thoouts Aksiomatikos, It appears we're more in agreement than at odds, but if Semayawi decides to block the bill for the right to violate animals, so be it. As an Arkhēist, I don't quite buy the argument that an animal veneration could somehow be misconstrued as bestiality. Veneration and violation are two completely different things and one could not possibly mistaken for the other. Worshipping cats is quite different from...I don't think I REALLY need to elaborate on this subject. Rētor Sahmelo Independent |

Message | Thoouts Aksiomatikos, The hon. Member might be able to distinguish between veneration and violation, but what of the zealous animal rights leftist type? They are not known for sanity or intelligence in these matters. We will vote against this bill as on the balance, we find we oppose too much of it. Patos Ghali Vizier of Education and Culture |
