Bill: WMD Defense Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertarian-Socialist Coalition
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2172
Description[?]:
The LSP believes that United Jakania would be severely crippled should a belligerent neighbor of ours decide to use chemical or biological weapons. Because we conduct no research on chemical or biological weaponry, we as a nation would be ill pressed to respond to such an attack. Researching these weapons would allow us to research cures and proper countermeasures for them. Construction and use of chemical and biological weapons would still be expressly forbidden. But, in the name of national security, legalize the research of chemical and biological weapons. |

Message | Do you think being killed by a chemical weapon or a biological weapon is somehow worse than being evicerated and dismembered by conventional weaponry? Shall we simply dissolve the military? You can debate the tactical effectiveness of such weapons to be sure, most are a waste of money, but a ban is excessive legislation. |

Message | We already have a ban on chemical and biological weapons. Our bill is a step forward in protecting our nation from biological and chemical weapons being used against us in the future. What we have currently IS excessive legislation. Voting no on this bill only helps keep us vulnerable to weapons of mass destruction. |
