Details

Status[?]: passed

Voting deadline: February 3983
Description[?]:
It is unacceptable that we make local governments responsible for deciding on the legality of sodomy. In line with the overwhelming majority of the international community, we must make it clear that sexual course between two consenting adults is legal, regardless of sexuality. We are only one of three nations that devolve this power to local government, and one of only ten do not make sodomy legal between consenting adults. |

Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy on sexual relations.
Old value:: Sexual relation laws are set by local governments.

Proposed: Sexual relations of all types are legal for consenting adults.

Date | 22:23:12, February 12, 2016 CET | From | Bailonese Council Communist Party (BCCP) | To | Debating the Sodomy Act of June 3982 |
Message | This is a message from one of our party members, who wishes to be left unnamed: "My community pays for its own healthcare, its own energy and even produces its own food. We are essentially, a nation inside another. What right does the government have to tell us how to run our community? Sodomy is a proven dangerous act. Sodomites are free to run their own communities, but not ours!" |
Date | 22:44:09, February 12, 2016 CET | From | Vanguard Communist Party | To | Debating the Sodomy Act of June 3982 |
Message | The message of the Confederate Party is a perfect example of regional prejudices that must not be allowed to effect policy. I don't know where the Confeds get there facts but sodomy is not a "proven dangerous act" and this party member you speak of shouldn't be worried about what goes on behind closed doors between 2 consenting adults. |
Date | 22:55:27, February 12, 2016 CET | From | Conservative Party | To | Debating the Sodomy Act of June 3982 |
Message | Regardless of whether you are for or against sodomy states rights should take precedence over central authoritarianism. |
Date | 23:25:29, February 12, 2016 CET | From | Vanguard Communist Party | To | Debating the Sodomy Act of June 3982 |
Message | We submit that The Confederates argument shows precisely why it cannot be left to local governance. How can we be a civilized nation when we still have communities rounding up and arresting people for sexual preferences? . |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
