Bill: Working Government Cabinets Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free Enterprise and Industry Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3999

Description[?]:

The Cabinet Apportionment Act of 3982 is hereby repealed in full. Parties may propose cabinets and appropriate cabinet posts in whatever manner they wish.

Konrad Warner, FEIP Parliamentary Spokesman: Seeing as two cabinet coalitions have failed, we in the FEIP believe that the nation would be better off without forced unity coalition building, rather allowing the parties to form their own cabinet coalitions. For our proposed cabinet however, we have followed the old seat distribution method.

MessageWell I was not aware this country was a tyranny where we excluded everyone who disagreed with us from the cabinet yet here we are

MessageKonrad Warner: It is not excluding everyone who disagrees, rather it is getting a government back to work. There have been two opportunities afforded for viable, inclusive governments, and both have been rejected for petty squabbling. Our Movement demanded positions despite being a very minor partner in the cabinet, flying in the face of established tradition. A new attempt was made to form a working coalition, and your party walked away for us not including a party who has never shown itself to be a friend of Republican or Conservative values. The people of Beluzia cannot afford to wait around while we attempt to placate to the ridiculous aspirations of petty politicians who demand certain positions when they are in position to demand anything at all.

MessageKonrad Warner: As well, the Republican Party is free to propose a cabinet of its own, though I think they will find that Our Movement makes for a terrible coalition partner.

MessageFirst of all I have voted with your party on a majority of bills that have been proposed so if you have any concerns about my voting record, I'd love to hear what they are, considering I've agreed with you a majority of the time. Second of all I was fine with the first cabinet proposal. Our movement wasn't happy with the position he got but at least everybody was represented, so I fail to see why you had to make new cabinet proposals, when you had the votes to pass the first one

MessageAnd when I say the first one I mean the one proposed by BPDP directly after the elections where everyone was fairly represented

Message(OOC Wait hold on disregard the first part of the message I sent i misread what you said) I did not oppose your cabinet because I agreed with Our Movement, in fact I disagree with him on a majority of bills that we propose, rather I voted no because we owe it to the people of Beluzia to include everybody that was voted into office so they can get equal representation, and I believe it is important that everyone has a voice in government

MessageKonrad Warner: Under then established law, the post of Finance Minister is automatically appropriated to largest party, so OM could not hold that post. Their second choice was defense, and incredibly powerful and important post, one that no minor party should be demanding for their support. OM has proven themselves to be incredibly radical and in a defense post could be a security risk to Beluzia. If they voted against a cabinet coalition that includes them, it cannot pass, which is why we resorted to new cabinet proposals. Our Movement demanded they be awarded one of the two most prestigious and important posts in the government, despite showing absolutely no qualification to do so. It is like a child demanding they get to be in charge of the family budget; it is simply ridiculous and irresponsible, and we Free Enterprisers will not allow such juvenile tactics to hold up the business of government.

MessageAhh alright I had no idea that if a party included voted no it couldn't pass. My bad never mind I agree his demands were ridiculous
