MessageOOC: From a roleplaying perspective, I love this. However, as the DPH I could never even think of supporting this, as one of our strongest beliefs is that the federal government should have jurisdiction over these matters.

MessageMr Speaker,

I will be putting this bill into a vote immediately. This may not pass but it sure as hell is the start of a revolution in devolution and grassroots democracy.

The establishment parties should be scared. Devolution will be achieved and is the only sustanible way to continue as a strong nation.

George Johnston
FSC Leader

MessageOOC: By all means, go ahead! ;) We're more like the American Democratic Party in this respect -- large federal government, more money for federal welfare and agencies, etc.

MessageOOC: that also make you more like the New Democratic Party of Canada :p

Further to the point you need to assume that there are regional versions of stuff when it doesn't specifically say otherwise. You can't just put into a Bill that everything but the military is the stuff of the Provinces when there are in game laws you can change instead... stuff myself and RIS would support.

I'd have voted against this on the ground it effectively repeals the Milita Act. Go through IG Laws and change it to Local Governments instead :) there's a lot I would support when it comes to devolution... though I'd be remiss to point out a Socialist Party the scale back of th3 Federal government isn't very Socialist ;p

MessageOOC: Well, that's actually quite debatable. As someone who has considered himself a socialist for the better part of five years, I would have to argue that while socialism does not call for the concentration of power that Stalinist Communism calls for, it still asks for a larger federal government than a laissez-faire capitalist democracy. Furthermore, communism at its core (by this I mean Marx and Engels, not Stalin) should be the smallest government of them all -- a government comprised entirely of the people
