Bill: Civil Liberties Reform Act of July 4047

Details

Submitted by[?]: Labour Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4048

Description[?]:

We are doing a disservice to the people of Beluzia by not guaranteeing certain rights to them: equally, we must apply explicit laws on public obscenity and nudity to ensure we are protecting our children and guiding them towards leading better lives than we have.

It's important we take a clear take on marriage and make it clear that all people in Beluzia are welcome to enjoy equal rights, regardless of their orientation or beliefs.

MessageWe in the BLFP do not see why the government needs to involve itself in love, sex (so long as such acts are consensual), and marriage.

ToDebating the Civil Liberties Reform Act of July 4047
MessageBecause we are obligated to guarantee these rights to people: it's not about interfering, rather protecting people and ensuring we live in a free and equal society.

FromBeluzian Liberty and Freedom Party
ToDebating the Civil Liberties Reform Act of July 4047
MessageWe feel as though any involvement, even if it is with the best intentions (such as securing freedoms), sets a precedent that the government can make a statement regarding these subjects. We are concerned that governments in the future may use this precedent in the future to potentially remove such rights from the people, and as such, we do not feel comfortable supporting this.

MessageWe strongly support all of these measures. It is a sign of the decadence of the Federal Republic that these existing laws came to be introduced in the first place.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.

Random quote: "The great strength of the totalitarian state is that it forces those who fear it to imitate it." - Adolf Hitler
