Bill: OOC: New BPDP Shadow Cabinet Lineup (including political positions)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Unsubmissive Beluzian Workers Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4056

Description[?]:

We would like to present the new front bench of the BPDP and would like to compare it with the previous one.

Previous:

Head of Government: Sir Julius Romanus Furgenster A.P.S (ultra-radical liberal)
Foreign Affairs: Dr Jomas Tomanovic, PhD, A.P.S, B.A., B.S (center-right)
Internal Affairs: Sir Ranfords Smithson James CBE OBE (moderate liberal)
Finance: Rachel Jane Adams, A.P.S, PhD, A.S, M.Phil, H.B.Econ. (moderate libertarian)
Defence: Sir Janus Hartmann A.S, A.P.S, B.A., B.S (moderate libertarian)
Justice: Dame Angela Ventura PhD, A.P.S (radical liberal)
Infrastructure and Transport: Dame Katherine Jean-Marie Adamson PhD, A.P.S (liberal conservative)
Health and Social Services: Dame Vanda Rachele Csilla Liviana McConnell MIA, M.Ed., B.A. (center-right)
Education and Culture: Dr Johnson Henry Greg PhD, A.P.S, B.A., B.S, M.Phil. (liberal socialist)
Science and Technology: Professor Johnson J Johnson M.Phil., LL.M. (moderate liberal)
Food and Agriculture: Dr Clarissa Rada Anya Waleria Székely B.S, MIA, M.Phil., PhD (center-right)
Environment and Tourism: Dr. Jean-Marie Vallier A.S, M.Phil, A.P.S, B.A (radical liberal)
Trade and Industry: Dr. Robert Fitzgerald Philips, PhD, A.P.S, B.A., B.S, M.Phil., LL.M. (neo-libertarian)

As you can see from this, Romanovic made some very poor choices. He did not review the political positions of each shadow minister and appointed. He appointed many moderates (but now radical liberals) and some conservative-leaning politicians into his front bench. This was what led to him being defeated by PM Furgenster. An inept leadership and poor decisions. But that has changed. PM Furgenster has proposed a more progressive cabinet. Here is the new front bench:

Head of Government: Sir Francis Xavier Romanovic II, PhD, A.P.S (radical liberal)
Foreign Affairs: Sir Ranfords Smithson James CBE OBE (moderate liberal)
Internal Affairs: Dr Gabriel Florea A.P.S, B.A. (ultra-radical liberal)
Finance: Sir Janus Hartmann A.S, A.P.S, B.A., B.S (radical progressive)
Defence: Dr Johnson Henry Greg PhD, A.P.S, B.A., B.S, M.Phil. (radical liberal socialist)
Justice: Dame Angela Ventura PhD, A.P.S (radical liberal)
Infrastructure and Transport: Dr Marlene Davidson A.S, M.Phil, A.P.S, B.A (ultra-radical progressive)
Health and Social Services: Dr. Jean-Marie Vallier A.S, M.Phil, A.P.S, B.A (radical liberal)
Education and Culture: Dr Clarissa Rada Anya Waleria Székely B.S, MIA, M.Phil., PhD (moderate progressive)
Science and Technology: Professor Johnson J Johnson M.Phil., LL.M. (ultra-radical liberal)
Food and Agriculture: Dr Cecilia Rasmussen A.P.S, B.A., B.S (ultra-radical liberal socialist)
Environment and Tourism: Rachel Jane Adams, A.P.S, PhD, A.S, M.Phil, H.B.Econ (soft libertarian)
Trade and Industry: Dame Jane Marie-Anne Varman B.A., B.S (radical liberal)

As you can see, Furgenster has appointed a more radical opposition front bench and has relegated some Ministers, such as Rachel Jane Adams from Finance to Environment and Tourism, to prevent a more conservative leaning budget. He hopes that this front bench will be a representative voice for all Beluzians and will bring out a more progressive message rather than the moderate message of the failed Romanovic leadership.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.

Random quote: "Politics is all about compromises and negotiations, nothing more, nothing less." - Augusto Amadeo, former Istalian politician
