Bill: Cabinet Proposal of December 4051

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzian Liberty and Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 4052

Description[?]:

We believe that, given the gains and losses in this election, that the proposed cabinet is a moderate balance between the relatively liberal presidency of Pres. Booth, and the relatively conservative majority elected in the BLFP and the Imperial Alliance.

MessageAs the second-largest party in the Senate, we are surely entitled to stronger representation in the Cabinet than what we are being offered here.

MessageExcept the largest party and the party of the head of state are surely also entitled to strong representation.

MessageWe'd argue that based on seats, New Labour and BLFP are entitled to strong representation. But so are the Imperials. Can't understand why the Social-Liberals are given so much power at the expense of the Imperials, surely this should be the other way round.

Random fact: Periodically, it is a good idea to go through your nation's Treaties and arrange to withdraw from any that are unwanted.

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn
