Bill: Peoples' Tax Cuts

Details

Submitted by[?]: Imperial Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4053

Description[?]:

Madam Speaker,

The hard-working people of Beluzia deserve a well-earned break from the exorbitant tax rates they have been being forced to pay in recent years. The current 76% income tax rate is unacceptable and unsustainable.

MessageMadam Speaker,

We are the Nationalist Party and we believe that the BPDP is insulting you and the senate by thinking strawmen and ad hominems are ok for the discussion of a bill and saying that you are bound by party to accept their logical fallacies.

MessageMadam speaker
This is a senate and the party that changed it to a senate because parliament "didn't sound official" now never uses the word senate. That and these cuts are too radical and will give us over 100billion BEL in a deficit.

MessageMadam Speaker,

If you loo at the data you can see with these new tax brackets we would have 340,511,000,000 BEL + 6,019,662,535BEL from the Corporation Tax + 69,030,010,522 BEL from the Sales Tax, that equals 415,560,673,057 BEL in tax revenue then we look at the excesses for each cabinet and that is
Head of Government 1,000,000,000 BEL
Foreign Affairs 5,000,000,000 BEL
Internal Affairs 20,000,000,000 BEL
Finance 2,000,000,000 BEL
Defence 100,000,000,000 BEL
Justice 5,000,000,000 BEL
Infrastructure and Transport 50,000,000,000 BEL
Health and Social Services 100,000,000,000 BEL
Education and Culture 100,000,000,000 BEL
Science and Technology 5,000,000,000 BEL
Food and Agriculture 5,000,000,000 BEL
Environment and Tourism 10,000,000,000 BEL
Trade and Industry 10,000,000,000 BEL
Total 413,000,000,000 BEL
so 415,560,673,057 BEL in tax revenue - 413,000,000,000 BEL in exspenses= 2,560,673,057 BEL surples

MessageMadam Speaker,

While we understand budget concerns, but at the same time, we are unsure of how such an action would propagate income inequality, given that the lower taxes only apply to lower incomes. In theory, these tax breaks would allow even more upward mobility for lower-income individuals. If there is something we are missing with this, we apologize.
