Bill: Progressive Society Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Reform Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2177

Description[?]:

Look at the people of Aloria. They are progressives, they are permissives! Why should we define freedom on issues where it goes against their beliefs. Why should we legalize euthanasia and abortion? Because it is the right of the people to control their lives! Because the people *want* to control their lives. It is time the government stopped telling them what to believe, and what they can and cannot do!

MessageWhy do you assume this about killing people? It's simply a matter of choice. We realise the AGSP would prefer to just have everyone told what to do, and what to think, but the Aloria people clearly don't want that. They're progressive and permissive. It would be a disservice to the people to vote against this.

MessageSorry, SRP. The ICP is and always has been against abortion, euthanasia, and the death penalty. Life-life-life. It isn't changing anytime soon.

MessageWhat about the child who cannot yet speak for itself? The entire course of the pregnancy? Third trimester babies can often live outside the womb. What's the difference on what side of the womb? This isn't abortion you're supporting nor choice. You are supporting infanticide. I can understand first term, but entire pregnancy? The minute before the baby would be born it's okay to kill it?

MessageWhat does SRP's other bill have to say about free will? Does murdering children fit into this vision?

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
