Bill: Abortion Rights Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Socialist Workers Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4059
Description[?]:
Women all over Gaduridos may want to have an abortion for a series of different reasons, whether that reason is rape, incest, or simply that the woman is unprepared to care for a child. Currently, our laws state women can only receive an abortion in the first trimester. We propose extending the deadline for receiving an abortion to the end of the second trimester to ensure women can receive the healthcare they need. This will in turn slow the growth of homeless children and child poverty in the nation. It's up to us to be a role model for how to treat women and children. |

Message | I hope all parties will view this bill and take into serious consideration what is on the line. It's important to provide the choice for women to control their bodies, however, we also should not allow third trimester abortions because the fetus has nearly fully developed. I'm excited to see if this bill gains traction. Thank you. |

Message | The Free Market Caucus believes life begins by the end of the first trimester, and believes the state must step in to protect the life of the child. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
Random quote: "The problem is big government. If whoever controls government can impose his way upon you, you have to fight constantly to prevent the control from being harmful. With small, limited government, it doesn't much matter who controls it, because it can't do you much harm." - Harry Browne |
