Message | Madam Speaker, A strong military is vital to our national security, and supporting our military is an honourable aim. However, there are several requests in this Bill which are simply outrageous. I draw the Senates attention to Articles 2, 8 and 10 in particular. The first two would permit the use of some of the most horrific and inhumane weapons known to man to be used for, and I quote, "any reason". The second would withdraw us from the committee of a humanitarian organisation, the work of which saves lives every day. That is simply indefensible. This Bill would reduce our military status to none better than that of a tinpot dictatorship; passing this Bill would not strengthen Beluzia, but make us enemies of humanity - hated, shunned and deplored. This would only reduce Beluzia's standing on the world stage. As a result of the above objections, this Bill is entirely unsupportable. Sen. Alfred Mayer Defence Spokesperson, New Liberal Party |

Message | The so called Liberal Party which would advicate the use of the most dispicable, abhorrent and Inhumane weapons known to man, in the form of biological and chemical weapons and land mines which are completely indiscriminate and kill hundreds of thousands of innocents. The New Liberal Party which advocates questionable clandestine military intelligence operations abroad, the New Liberal Party which would see our children drafted in to military service and soldiers policing our streets. The New Liberal Party which would see us launching catastrophic, devestating nuclear weapons for 'any reason' while paramilitary thugs roam our streets. I don't know about anyone else but New Liberalism is starting to sound an awful lot to us like old totalitarianism. Like old nationalism. Like good old fashioned fascism. This bill is dangerous and is something we could never advocate or vote for. Mike Smith, Leader of the Socialist Working Party |

Random quote: "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, from those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children." - Dwight D. Eisenhower |
