Bill: Call for early elections, May 4065
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertarian Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: January 4066
Description[?]:
Senators, We must acknowledge the fact that this Senate is unworkable. For any coalition to form a government they would need at least four parties. We believe the resulting government would be weak, divided, and would ultimate prove itself incapable of responsible government. I hope that Senators can see this, regardless of political orientation. I hope Senators will vote for the interests of this nation and back this demand for a fresh general election. - Syd Myers, Libertarian Party General Secretary |

Message | Madam Speaker, To bring such a proposal to the Senate so soon after the previous election is ridiculous. I must remind the Senate that a majority coalition is being formed presently, and the New Future Coalition will be a stable, pragmatic and sensible government. Besides, to dismiss the will of the Beluzian people simply because it does not provide a tidy arena for party-politics shows a lack of regard for our democracy. I must press the Senate, vote against this preposterous attempt to ignore the will of the people! Sen. Catherine Oaksworth Leader of the New Liberal Party |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
Random quote: "If democracy is ever to be threatened, it will not be by revolutionary groups burning government offices and occupying the broadcasting and newspaper offices of the world. It will come from disenchantment, cynicism and despair caused by the realization that the New World Order means we are all to be managed and not represented." - Tony Benn |
