Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4069
Description[?]:
Countless sorts of research has proven time and time again that smoking is bad. However, citizens can decide for themselves if they want to smoke or not. People who decide not to smoke however, are now still in danger of being affected by people who smoke. In the name of National Health we therefore propose this law change: |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy towards smoking.
Old value:: Smoking is legal everywhere, at the discretion of the property owner, but is illegal in government-owned buildings.
Current: Smoking is legal outdoors and in private homes and clubs, but illegal indoors in all places of employment.
Proposed: Smoking is legal outdoors and in private homes and clubs, but illegal indoors in places of employment, with the exception of places that primarily serve liquor.

Message | Madam Speaker, This is needless authoritarianism. People may decide if they wish to agree to work in a environment where smoking takes place, the people do not need nanny state 'protection' in this way. Sen. Mary Billingdon Internal Affairs Spokesperson, New Liberal Party |

Message | As a reply to what Sen. Billingdon said in the Federal Senate I would like to say that, unlike some of her backers, the common people of Beluzia do not have the luxury to pick and choose where they want to work. This bill provides enough opportunity for people to smoke in many locations without problem, but when they are at work they will have to step outside, which is not too much too ask. The majority who doesn't smoke should not be affected by the minority that does. Luuk Voncken Party Leader SPA |
