Message | Madam Speaker, You say 'government subsidized station for educational and informational purposes', we on these benches hear 'government controlled conduit for propaganda and manipulation purposes'. Do Senators not realise the problem with their grand idea? We will open our people up to control and abuse! Whoever controls the media controls the facts, especially if we tell people 'this station is purely for your information'. The NLP believes the government should not control the facts, and as such we oppose this Bill. Sen. Alan Short Education & Culture Spokesperson, New Liberal Party |
