MessageMadam Speaker,

This is the reasonable compromise that should never have been removed by our government. Banks should be mainly private to promote competition and push for excellence, but the government also needs the power to take action in the event of a crisis or period of economic instability - the kind of power provided by control of a central bank.
We will support this Bill, and urge Senators to do so also.

Sen. John Bills
Finance Spokesperson, New Liberal Party
