Bill: Call for early elections, April 4079
Details
Submitted by[?]: Regionalist Coalition
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: June 4080
Description[?]:
We, the New Liberal Party, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus. I think we need fresh elections after the departure of the LPPB. I will put this to vote once all the Feb 4079 Bills are set to go through. |

Message | It seems like we are having early elections every 5 minutes. Can't keep having them every time a new party is created or a party is disbanded. |

Message | We haven't had them for a while now, and I think this is a special case given the difficulty of coalition forming and the huge ideological gap left by the very temporary LPPB. Honestly, they should never have made it into the elections - they were inactive since before them. |

Message | My party is not a fan of early elections, generally. We feel an exception should be made here, however. |

Message | We have literally just had an early election which saw your party gain the presidency. I suggest that there is a working coalition who form a majority and there is a working government, it's just a coalition in which your party don't play a part. I can see your reasoning and I appreciate that you have opposed early elections previously but my party feel it is important to ensure stability for Beluzia and so we would respectfully vote against this proposal and I would hope our coalition partners will join us. |

Message | Is there a way to only do senatorial elections? I agree with the new liberal party that we need early elections, because it's not just a couple of seats missing, but 168 which is a lot. It's not just about the coalition, because having an early election probably benefits you guys. I just think we need to fill the seats. |

Message | "We have literally just had an early election" My apologies, I did not realise this "I suggest that there is a working coalition who form a majority and there is a working government, it's just a coalition in which your party don't play a part." Well I do regard as fairly important that the office of President and senior cabinet positions are held by the same party for it to be a truly 'working coalition'. Also, the proposed Cabinet is a loose 4-way coalition. If a coalition needs four members in a seven-member Chamber to have a majority, I contest that to be insufficiently stable. However, that last bit is just my personal opinion. "I can see your reasoning and I appreciate that you have opposed early elections previously but my party feel it is important to ensure stability for Beluzia and so we would respectfully vote against this proposal and I would hope our coalition partners will join us." Well that is the truest available test of a government. If the government parties wish to lock us into this circumstance, if they believe this is best for the people of Beluzia, then they go right ahead. OOC: I will put this to vote now, with the plea to players to realise this isn't political, and that the LPPB shouldn't have made it into the elections, and that it'll allow us to move on with the game sooner if we correct this quickly. |
