I know its a large surplus but in our opinion we need such a large surplus for just 2 years and we will handle the inflation after those 2 years. | Message | The only problems we see in this proposal are the dramatic cuts to both the Defense and the Environment and Tourism ministries. Could they be able to function with such a reduced spending, specially the Environment and Tourism ministry? How about our national security? I would need the advice of both ministers about how such cuts could affect their departments before I can agree to such a dramatic reduction. If we are reassured that the cuts will not impact their operations substantially, then I am inclined to support this bill. At the moment, though, I am skeptical of this bill. |

| Message | Both the Defence and Tourism departments have been running on twice the amount of funding they needed for the past 10 years. This has cost us dearly but both departments have been running on such a surplus that they now have some reserves. |
