Bill: Prisoner Rehabilitation Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Uniunea Hosia Democrată

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 4109

Description[?]:

One of the most solemn duties of a civilised society is to endeavour to turn around the lives of those who fall into wrong ways and find themselves incarcerated.

Prisoners should be given a full opportunity to receive education and training. They should not be forced to work for no money. Also, once released from prisoner, they should be able to exercise their responsibilities as citizens - which includes exercising the right to vote.

Voting is a civic responsibility. In my view, there would actually be more of a case for *compelling* prisoners to vote than to prevent them from doing so.

Lucian Petrescu
Chairman of the Hosian Democratic Union

MessageA question to the Uniunea Hosia Democrată. If they believe that 'there would actually be more of a case for *compelling* prisoners to vote than to prevent them from doing so', why do they propose to prevent them from doing so?

We would support the bill if it conformed to the description provided.

MessageWe agree with the Kizenian Workers Party, quite the contradiction. We totally oppose these messures. Justice must be served to those who think they can break the law. All those criminals are there to sit their time and pay back their debt to society.

MessageMore paternalistic bull****. Why should decent folk who contribute to society have to pay for the education of those who don't? Let them scrub the floors all the day and be thankful that they get fed by the taxpayers.

MessageWe fully agree with the Freedom Front. They are working to repay their debt to society and all their earnings go to financing the prisons.

MessageOOC: Oops! As you guys might have guessed, I put in the wrong law for the prisoner voting thing. It was meant to be a law to allow prisoners to vote once they are released from prison.
