MessageMr. Speaker,

We are strongly opposed to the legalisation of cannabis. Cannabis is known to be a "gateway drug" to much more harmful drugs, and it is also very harmful itself - especially in its stronger variations. In particular, there is increasing and worrisome evidence of links between cannabis use and mental health issues, including paranoia and schizophrenia.

MessageMr. Speaker,

About medical use we were split. We decided later on to cancel our proposal as a majority of our MP's decided that they could not support it anymore.

Our views are the same as the Hosians, the problem with drugs is that our youngsters will start using it, it will cause them to be lazy, unproductive and lead to decay of the family. We will not let that happen.

So we support the Minister of Justice and oppose this bill.
