MessageMr. Speaker,

People can pay for their own hobbies. We don't pay people who like to ski for their kneepads either.

Also, spreading contraceptives is actually likely to create more unwanted pregnancies as it makes them used to a promiscuous lifestyle. This is not something we should encourage with money from our hard-working taxpayers. What happened to personal responsibility in this country?

MessageMr. Speaker,

There is very little room for personal responsibility when you cannot afford birth control.

MessageMr. Speaker,

You can always abstain from skiing if you can't afford kneepads. It's not everyone else's duty to pay for your hobbies.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Contraception is very, very cheap these days - easily accessible to all of our citizens. There is no justification to subsidise it. In fact, subsidising it comes with problems, partly because it can send out the wrong message that promiscuity is a good thing, and party because it involves using tax money in a way that many taxpayers do not approve of.

The differences is skiing does not result in unwanted children who become a burden on the state.
