| Herr Huspresident, alcohol is an important factor in socializing and human interaction that is enjoyed by many ordinary people in a responsible manner. We should loosen the draconian regulations imposed on its consumption which do not only hurt an important branch of industry but treats grown adults as if they were in need of being nannied by the state and its minions. The danger of over-indulgence is widely known and does not require warning signs slapped on bottles and cans which ruin the design of the labels - we do not require can manufacturers to put warnings about speeding on their vehicles either. | Message | Herr Huspresident, The reason behind the strong/stringent warning messages on products which cause hazardous effects, might it physically and/or mentally, cigarettes for example, are informing the consumer of the product as to the risks usually accompanied by the use of the product and also encourages quitting of extensive consumption of the product among consumers, and also as a means of preventing others from starting/considering to indulge in the acts. If the Trade and Industry Minister could please elaborate as to how they will ensure for instance is someone were to sell extremely potent alcoholic beverages to minors from the supposed safety of his backyard. I and the Nasjonal Sosialistisk Folkeparti, would like to know how will they be able to prevent such issues seeing that regulations through licensing is being thrown out of the window. | Message | Mr Speaker, nothing wlll change with regards to the danger of backyard sales to minors given that they are illegal regardless of whether there is a requirement to obtain a license or not. Whoever wishes to perform such a transaction "from the supposed safety of his own backyard" will not be stopped from doing so through a licensing requirement for registered shops. The only way we can prevent them from happening is effectively making sure that people who sell alcohol to minors are held liable for any damage they may cause.
