Bill: Legislative Freedom Act II
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Reform Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2183
Description[?]:
This treaty is restricting Aloria's legislative freedom. Most of you seem to be under the impression that, if we leave this treaty, we will become an authoritarian nation. But, that just isn't so. Leaving this treaty merely leaves the option for change, it does not garentee anything. Not to mention, it is undemocratic to not allow a party to further their platform. |
Proposals
Article 1
Withdraw from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Message | For matters that restrict legislation, let the people decide. Human rights will be kept, but if the people are against it, let the people be heard. Check this article: "Article 23 "(1) Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment. "(2) Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work. "(3) Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection. "(4) Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests." Quite communistic. Basic human rights? I think not. As for the legislative articles, it's quite sick. Some restrict devolving things to local gov'ts, that's against the spirit of the Confederacy. |
