Bill: Refugee Crisis Election

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Monarchist Party of Hutori

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: December 4160

Description[?]:

We, the Liberal Democratic Party of Hutori, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus.

Following the refugee crisis, it is clear that the hearts and minds of Hutori need to be reconsidered.

OOC: I will propose this once the year is even again.

Message"Mr Speaker,

It is clear that this is purely the anti-refugee agenda trying to defy our democratic system. The Socialist Party will honour the decisions of our voters for four years as is our law. This does not classify as an extreme circumstance, divisive laws go before Senates all over Terra every day. This is our job to represent the people."

MessageMr.Speaker,

We reject this motion.Just because the Initiative to accept Refugees has won,The LDP cannot call for early elections. This Is utterly Undemocratic and will unnecessarily result in a lot of expenditure for the government.

The Government must be trying to unite the nation, and not divide it.

Therefore we oppose the LDPs Proposal for early elections.

MessageMr. Speaker

We respect the Liberal Democratic Party's request for early elections as is their right as a political party to request while disagreeing with their reasoning for it.

We will note to out colleagues that the LDP are not wrong on this file that we appear divided, of the 600 Senators that sit in this chamber 223 Votes in favor while 191 voted against, there were 186 Abstainations, so while our proposal passed by simple majority, we can't know whether or not it would have passed if the other two voting parties had lodged their votes.

We will await the feedback of Prime Minister McCurdy's opinion on the matter as his Party would have been the absolute deciding factor on the question.

MessageMr speaker,

The people should be given the option to make the final decision about the refugee crisis. We would vote in favour of holding early election so the will of the people is shown and we can reconsider the refugee situation.

Message''Mr. Speaker,

We will vote for this early election. Not because of the refugee crisis but mostly because since the The Nationalist Republican Party has gone inactive, 8% of the population didn't have any representation''

Message"Mr Speaker,

We would like the National Progress Party to acknowledge that 90 seats must be vacated for early elections to be called. Considering the NRP only had 50 seats when they went inactive, this is not reason enough to push this to an early election. Please reconsider your vote before we are pushed to an unnecessarily early election."
