Bill: Housing Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4180

Description[?]:

Whilst we agree the state has a responsibility to ensure all citizens are adequately housed, we cannot accept the current situation where the entire housing stock is owned and controlled by the government.

Our people deserve the right to buy their own homes and choose where they live.

MessageWe find it disgusting that the Liberal Party wants to open up housing, an essential need for people and families, to private for-profit corporations.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We find it puzzling that the New Democrats and others want to ban our citizens from purchasing their own homes.

MessageOnce the Cabinet is performed, our Infrastructure Minister and I will work on detailing improved housing. Up to now, we have had minimal complaints from government funded housing. These are good buildings for families and can be customized. What we are doing is buying shelter, which allows citizens to use their money elsewhere.
