Message | The major problem our party has with this proposal is that Article 1 guarantees child benefit to all families: this would include families in the top 1%, families in the highest income bracket. These welfare programs are funded primarily through taxation - it makes absolutely no sense to tax lower-income families and reassign that money to richer families just because they happen to have children. We also see no reason to change the current value of Article 2. |
