While the Unionists take advantage of the farmers' grievances to try to overthrow the government, the UPU seeks legislative changes that will deliver a better life to rural people. The farms freedom act raises corporate taxes in order to subsidize low-income farmers, and meets local aspirations by allowing the muhafazah to craft pesticide and migrant worker programmes and local schools to decide their own policy on religious matters. |
