Message | What if the strike is done for a reason? Seriously, you're only giving space for businesses to worsen employer benefits and wages; in other words, soon enough we won't have a mininum wage, or if we do, then all employers will simply pay that. A worker can't complain because he or she will be fired. It's ludicrous. I will never vote yes for this, because it would simply be wrong. You obviously have never worked in your life, and it's rediculous that you even propose this. The situation of the worker will be condemned to a progressive decrease in livability, and capital produced as a whole will decrease because the worker will no longer feel obligated to do his/her share of work, since he/she will believe that he/she is not getting paid enough. |

Message | nononono. Firstly, dont question my work ethic or work experience. Trust me, I understand the demographics and workers that go into the different labor markets, and I know how they worked, with 10 years experience. I HAVE worked for minimum wage for the arches, and 10 bucks an hour doing handy work in an inner city low income area WITH OTHER low income workers, and 20 bucks an hour interning for a bank, and 50/hr at my current job, and an even higher wage that I am not willing to disclose right now (hoping the negotiations go through =D) Trust me, just because there IS a minimum wage, doesnt mean that businesses will automatically charge that. THAT IS NOT HOW MARKETS AND ECONOMICS WORK. YOU are the one that has obviously never worked for labor unions and you probably never worked for minimum wage for a living. Just the fact that you are on the internet is proof of your affluence. Your experiences displace you from this issue, and you obviously dont understand economics fully, other than what the DNC tells you to understand with capitalist economics. Strikes "work" because the unions believe that the business will be unable to replace the workers. Making their efforts to raise wages and benefits more effective. HOWEVER, it is BASED on the fact that they hope that businesses will be unable to replace them. You ever heard of "Scabs"???!?!? PLUS, if people dont want to work for a company because they arent being paid enough, then THEY ARE FREE TO LEAVE AND GO WORK FOR SOMEONE ELSE. (RL input) THIS ISNT COMMUNIST RUSSIA, OR RED CHINA. YOU HAVE OPTIONS REGARDING THE PLACES YOU CAN WORK AND THE WAGES THAT YOU WORK FOR. NOONE IS MAKING YOU TAKE 5 BUCKS AN HOUR. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, YOU ARE FREE TO LEAVE AT ANY TIME. DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT. If you feel like you are being trampled on, then tell your boss to shove it! I am in full support of that. HOWEVER, Dont you think it is unreasonable to tell your boss to "shove it" and then DEMAND that he continue to pay you and even force him to employ you? I mean, come on! You are the one that has a skewed version of reality, with little (if any) job experience. And If you DO have job experience, you obviously arent being paid enough, and don't put two and two together on this one. |
