Bill: Child Labor Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Christian Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2186
Description[?]:
Laws pertaining to labor should recognize that adults and children are different. For example, if a minimum wage were ever passed, it should be lower for children to make them more hireable. The hours a child should be required to work may be different. There are many examples of how laws written for adults cannot apply to children. We don't want to ban child labor entirely and know how important it is to parties like the National Front, but we do want common sense laws that recognize that child labor needs to be treated differently by the government |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning child labour.
Old value:: Child labour is allowed and it is subjected to the same regulations as adult labour.

Message | While the intentions of this bill are laudable, we do not feel child labor should be encouraged. Children should be focusing on their schoolwork, not supplying cheap labor to robber barons. If the Christian Democrats add a clause promising that minors be treated at least as well as a comparably experienced adult employee, including in the domain of pay, than we shall be willing to support this bill. |

Message | Neither should be regulated. |
