Given the current status of the Senate with Delvar and Bozarland being unrepresented following the disbandment of the Libertarian Party we propose authorizing President Parker to nominate 2 additional Senators to fill the absent seats in addition to the 5 seats to be nominated by law and tradition. Message | Mr. Speaker, We would like to know why our colleagues in the RP and PPR oppose allowing President Parker to fill the vacancies. We also seek clarification on whether a 2/3 majority should be required to allow President Parker to nominate Senators to fill the vacancies. It was our thinking that this bill was merely a polite courtesy, the language of the Senate rules is rather vague on this situation, it states that when a party inactivates their seats become vacancies however it states the President appoint one group of nominees per term. It further designates a 'slate' as five senators but offers no provision on how to fill vacancies. Prime Minister Elmer Clark |

Message | Mr. Speaker, It is the Eco-Socialists' interpretation of the Senate Act that rolling vacancies are a key component of the Senate, and only 5 members should be appointed per term by the serving president. We feel thus that this motion asks for a temporary suspension of a quasi-constitutional act and should require a 2/3 threshold. If the Whigs could provide more information on their intents in this extraordinary motion, we may perhaps join them in supporting the motion. However at this time we feel uneasy about extending such powers Pauline Roberts Co-Spokesperson of the Eco-Socialists |

Message | OOC: Yes RP can agree with Eco-Soc's reasoning, but in Amendment 4200 it states all mods/alterations to the senate require a 2/3 vote Amendment 4200, http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=515235 |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Given the reasoning provided by the ESM I find that their reasoning is sensible, our friends in the ESM have requested more information on our intent to see these seats filled, I can inform them that we merely do not wish to see some states underrepresented in the Senate due to a disbanding of a political party. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
