Bill: Call for early elections, June 4222

Details

Submitted by[?]: Parti Démocratique National Lourennais

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: February 4223

Description[?]:

We don't think the combinations that are made in all the cabinet proposals are acceptable or chance-worthy, because of the differences between these parties. All proposed cabinets are a combination of left and right, conservative and progressive, big and small and experienced and inexperienced. A governmental agreement can only be established if the differences between the parties are quite small and in this case (or these cases) the differences are that big that we don't think these cabinets will ever, ever come to an agreement. Therefore, we propose early elections and we think it is necessary for the sake of Lourenne that we accept the fact that with the current division of seats, no agreements can be made and no cabinets can be established.
Honoured members of the Assemblée Nationale, this is the moment that we think not only for ourselves, but for Lourenne and all Lourennians in it. This is the moment were we stand up and face the harsh truth. This is the perfect moment to act and to tackle this problem.

Vive la République Lourennais et ses habitants!

Louise Malaïs Robineaux
Party leader of the PDNL and inhabitant of Lourenne

MessageCalling out another election is not going to solve this crisis. This is about other parties not willing to coorporate.

MessageThat's why we should arrange early elections, to change the current division of the seats which will eventually lead to a new cabinet, as we think that in the current situation, no cabinet can be established.

MessageElections won't change the division of seats that much. We doubt much change will occur. The fact is that the PCL will remain the largest party, the PR, PDNL and FLC will have roughly the same amount of seats, and the Stillmanists and the PAD will still struggle. This has been the case for the last two elections, and we don't see it changing until a cabinet is put in place, and parties can continue suggesting policies properly.

MessageWe support this bill with the understanding that no more early elections will be called and a cabinet can be formed for a full 3 year term, even if it includes disparate parties.
