Bill: Revival of the army!

Details

Submitted by[?]: Parti d'Aube Dorée

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4224

Description[?]:

Lourenne's army is a mess; Problems like outdated equipment and financial issues are not unusual. The army is being crippled by uneffective rules set up by capitalist bureaucrats. If we want to prevent invasions from war-like countries, we must protect ourselves better with a stronger army! What are we as a country if we are not even able to properly defend ourselves?

MessageWe will see how much the PR and FLC have to say the moment our nation is attacked and outnumbered. This shows their unwillingness to make proper legislation about a decent defence of Lourenne. We wonder how they go to sleep every night knowing if Lourenne is conquered, it will be their fault. Shame!

MessageHonourable Members,

It is clear that the issue that is at large within this bill is Article 2. The PCL would argue that it is important, during times that we are in need of protection, whether that be down to invasion from a possible enemy, or another scenario to have the numbers of men and women that are necessary to help keep this nation safe. We will steadfastly reject any proposal to implement compulsory military service out of war time, but otherwise we view it as imperative for this bill to pass.

From a legislative point of view, to reject this bill is pointless. Simply put, should Lourenne ever be at a time of war, the governing party/parties will simply overturn the legislation to make conscription possible at the time. Therefore, the PCL would argue that we should not have to turn their plight for soldiers into a long, hard battle through the National Assembly, and should do any future war-time government a favour by implementing this law.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".
