Date | 13:11:40, June 19, 2017 CET | From | Unity Labour Party | To | Debating the Eco friendly cars Law |
Message | The Unity labour Party is undecided on this issue and will convene a special meeting with the central executive of the party and the parliamentary group of the party to discuss whether or not it will support this bill. For the ULP, it is, in principle, believe in the need to combat man-made climate change and cut carbon emissions but also it understands the need for job creation to which this bill most likely will negatively affect, thus lead to a decline I the automotive industry. It must be noted however, that it's the ULP through its efforts in earlier years of government policy that proposed the current legislation which we believe is still best practice to phase out old cars as consumers through tax incentive will shape their behavior to purchase more environmentally friendly cars which also will shape the market to supply that demand thereby not creating a hiccup in the economy. |

Message | I want to encourage you to vote for this bill so that we can reduce the enormous amount of CO² we expulse to the atmosphere. I remember you that the changes will be sensibly and slowly applied during the next 8 years. We would sell the cars or the parts of them to other countries and we would subsidize the car industry and the public transport until all the people had their own eco friendly car. |
