Description[?]:
We believe in education, not segregation. Selective schools are not helpful, they are utterly unnecessary. They simply put stress on young children earlier than necessary and can separate them from their friends if they fail their 11+ tests. This is something we will not endorse, we believe a sensible comprehensive system is more than efficient, students can be allocated into simply classes at the same schools based on ability; they shouldn't be switched to other schools. Also, selective schools hinder the progress of children who may be late bloomers. A child may gradually increase their grades more rapidly than others, thus their progress could be hindered by being kept at a school lower than their abilities, whilst in a comprehensive system they could simply be transferred to another class, with ease and far less bureaucracy. Likewise, some children's academic ability can deteriorate later on in their schooling life, I have known from personal experiences for this to be true, thus it is surely not morally right that these be kept in schools with higher standards that they can deal with whilst other kids are kept behind. Selective education has let so many children down, lets build a better future and no longer let that be so. |

Message | Mr. TBA, We simply do not agree with you. Simply because not all schools are the subject to this law. Our young generations have a vast range of choice while selecting their schools. We see no reason to ban selective education facilities while they can benefit those with some extensive abilities and a outstanding education performance. These schools provide an academic environment and are focused on helping their students to achieve strong results. And it can also be assumed that the vast majority of students who study at these schools have undertaken an entrance examination because they want to be there and succeed in their studies. The schools report that this fosters a collaborative environment where students can thrive — working together to achieve the same goal. There is no one-size-fits-all in the education sector and that's why we need to keep every option open. Suzanne Heikler. |

Random quote: "John Burroughs has stated that experimental study of animals in captivity is absolutely useless. Their character, their habits, their appetites undergo a complete transformation when torn from their soil in field and forest. With human nature caged in a narrow space, whipped daily into submission, how can we speak of its potentialities?" - Emma Goldman |
