MessageMr Speaker,

Currently, this treaty stops us from legalising adultery. We wish to withdraw from this treaty and then legalise the action.

MessageMr Speaker,

Let me first be clear, we do not aim to encourage adultery in Talmoria, but by the same token we do not believe it should be an offence in any way - people in open relationships need equality.

Once this withdrawal hopefully passes, this government will decriminalise adultery and allow those who want to pursue open relationships do so without breaking the law.

This also sends a clear message to our people: this government is committed to instilling social freedom, and we will not act like your parents.

It is also very much worth noting that out of the 58 nations in this treaty, we were the only 1 to be fully compliant. It is time we withdraw from such an ignored treaty that is not even liberal - by encouraging capital punishment for those who cheat on their partners. Talmoria is better than such a draconian treaty!

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
