Bill: Improved Police Firearms Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzian Defense and Federalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2190

Description[?]:

Why should the police forces of Beluzia be restricted by what type of weapons they can carry? In order to fight crime, and prevent dangerous criminals from roaming the streets, we need to have a well equipped police force. After considering the benefits of having improved firearms, I believe the issuing of military grade equipment would provided 3 key benefits:

1) Moral among police officers would increase. There is no bigger moral booster then realizing that you have a state of the art firearm by your side in dangerous situations
2) Fear factor; criminals are not going to want to go up against state of the art weapons
3) The weapons themselves would get on field experience. What better way to find flaws in weapons, then to have them used and deployed every day? It would also make their production cheaper, because we would be buying more
