Bill: Pesticide Use Policy

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Libertarian Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4299

Description[?]:

The use of pesticides, fungicides and chemicals is vital to the success of agriculture. However we should all be aware of the chemicals we are letting into our bodies, especially when such chemicals can cause diseases like cancer and heart failure.

Pesticides cannot be banned because they are of extreme importance, but a slightlyore rigorous regulation does no harm.

MessageThis bill is to support and reinforce our health system by regulating agriculture a little more.

Crops are important bastions of economy and society and that's why we believe that being informed on the chemicals used in the development of the food we bring to our tables is necessary.

MessageThe current regulation prevents pesticides to be used in a way that they cannot harm any consumer. Removing that essential legislation and replacing it with a simple ennumeration of the chemicals, allowing highly toxic products to be sold under labelling, is going to cause seriuous health issues, especially among the most uneducated who will not pay attention to those harmful chemicals. Current regulation is the best option.

MessageThe listing of chemicals is to reinforce that regulation. That is implicit in the redaction of the bill.

MessageThis bill states that they are required to list the types of chemicals used to grow their product, it does not limit the different kinds of chemicals that are used unlike as how the law is now which prevents the use of dangerous chemicals through government regulation thusly passing this bill will harm the consumer rather then protect them by allowing harmful chemicals into their body which, even though are to be stated on a list, are not always able to be avoided an example would be an agreement form that some sites make you sign agreeing that they can do what they want and if you don't agree to it you cannot do what is on the site; Unlike a site which you can leave food is not something you can just do something else with, people must eat and forcing them to agree to chemicals that can harm them is nothing more than forcing them into something they do not want.
