Bill: Vice & Substance Abuse Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Whig Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 4309
Description[?]:
The policy of allowing local governments to craft drug policies has led to a situation where states that seek to prohibit the use of a substance are unable to enforce a ban on drugs due to other regions allowing drugs so very openly. The cycle of drug use and poverty are so very interrelated, they lead to a downward fall that contributes to the spread of STD's and other disease. The Commonwealth's policy of supplying drugs to those classified as 'low income' has in many ways contributed to this problem we believe. Many of those being supplied drugs are selling their drugs in states with lax drug laws. We propose ending these policies in order to fight the poverty and depravity that comes with their legal status. Clifford Douglas Minister of Justice |
