Bill: Privatförstereigesetz, 4321
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberale Volkspartei
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4322
Description[?]:
Herr Präsident forestry and logging have traditionally been major sources of supplementary income for many farming families. We believe that the current state monopoly is unjust and economically unreasonable, especially in cases where privately owned farmland and forests are immediately adjacent and could easily be managed in a parallel fashion. We therefore propose to allow the Department of Agriculture to privatize a certain portion of forested land while retaining public ownership in ecologically sensitive or remote, non-populated areas. Message | Mr. Speaker, Forests are natural resources that belong to our common cultural heritage and parts of the eco-system with an innate value of their own. While it would be good if the actual work could be subcontracted to private entrepreneurs - to ensure cost-effectiveness and decentralization not the least - we prefer to have the forests themselves remain in public hands.
