Bill: Zivilehegesetz, 4324

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberale Volkspartei

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4325

Description[?]:

Herr Präsident,

while we recognize the religious roots of the concept of marriage, we should not withhold from our citizens the option of obtaining civil marriage contracts. This has the advantage of providing an inclusive legal framework that does not discriminate against non-religious citizens as well as homosexuals.

Jusitzministerin

MessageHerr Präsident,

A much better way of handling that is to keep the Government out of marriage altogether. While every person is a link in a community between the past and the present and science agrees that most of her traits are inherited from her predecessors, actual enforcement of these morals can be left to the civil society.

The FKL will view this as the LVP forcing its 'progressive' values down the throats of the peoples of the Crownlands and wonders whenever the LVP's voters thought this was what they voted for.

MessageHerr Präsident,

this bill does not impose any morals - progressive or conservative - whatsoever. It merely seeks to establish the legal institution of civil marriage, which is taken for granted in large parts of the free world. Doing so does not devalue traditional, religious conceptions of marriage in any way - but it does create an alternative that many non-denominational citizens, or indeed those who do not feel ready for entering faith-based matrinony, have been demanding for a long time.
