Bill: Waste Management Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kalistani Union of Democratic Socialists
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4335
Description[?]:
Recognizing that under current law private businesses are responsible for removing their own waste while residential waste is removed by the government, and seeing as the government is a more efficient entity for removing waste and helping companies meet government pollution standards, this bill would make the government entirely responsible for all waste removal and would take the burden of waste removal off of private companies, saving them money. |

Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Waste disposal responsibility.
Old value:: Private companies are responsible for disposing of their own waste. The government disposes of residential waste.
Current: The government is responsible for waste disposal.
Proposed: The government is responsible for waste disposal.

Message | We can't support this. It would close down businesses and leave workers jobless. |

Message | How so? It makes it so that companies won't have to pay for removing their trash, and any workers who worked in private sector waste management could easily transition over to public sector waste management. |

Message | I may have been a little too hasty in saying that it would close jobs. That was stupid. But still, it would lower the capitalist freedoms of Kalistan. |

Message | I disagree, it would free company's capital so that they can spend their money on other more critical things and not have to worry about government regulations and wasting money moving around garbage. |

Message | Sure, but workers could just work in the public sector and the vast majority of companies that aren't private garbage disposal businesses would also end up benefiting. |
