Message | Mr Speaker, Our party will never support taking energy sales away from the private sector. Creating a government monopoly will do nothing but allow for increasing electric bills for the people of Hutori. Allowing the private sector to produce and sell electricity, creates a competitive market and ultimately lowers the electric bills that Hutorians have to pay. Why does this government think it is a good idea to make Hutorians pay more for electricity? Barack Olatunji Leader of the Conservative Party of Hutori MP for Alyesbury Centre |

Message | Mr. Speaker The claims of the leader of the Conservative Party are completely absurd. He claim that the nationalisation of electricity would somehow raise the price of electricity because it would create a ''monopoly''. But it is important to make the difference between a governemental monopoly and a private monopoly. If indeed a private monopoly could raise the price because the greedy owners of a compagny that control the market would have no reason to keep it low as the have no competition, it is not the same thing for a governmental monopoly. Because any institution that is own by the government has responsabilities toward the people, mainly the responsability of not completly stealing their money. So even if Energy Hutori has a monopoly on the electricity sector, it will keep its prices low as it's main priority is not to make profit but to serve the population. -Gabriel Buccho MP for the New National Progress Party |

Message | Mr Speaker, Who is to say that an irresponsible government would not increase energy prices as a means of paying for out of control spending habits? By allowing the private sector to produce and sell electricity alongside government companies, we allow for more competition and therefore lower prices. Clearly nobody within this government understands that. They continue to prove just how incompetent they are every single day. Message | Mr. Speaker Indeed that could happen. But that could happen even if we don't nationalized electricity. An irresponsible government could simply raise taxe at a incredible rate as a means of paying for out of control spending habits. That would be the exact same thing. So there is very no link between that and the nationalisation of electricity. -Gabriel Buccho MP for the New National Progress Party |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
