Message | We are currently providing excellent health and safety legistlation based on years of expertise by some of the top health professionals in the nation. Yet we do not enforce this legislation. This bill seeks to rectify this blindspot. What is the point of legislation if it is not enforced? |

Message | We should be vigilant against government overreach in areas not pertaining to government's role - protecting Keymon. We can offer advice, but forcing people to follow it is unfree. |

Message | Where does this viewpoint end? We make legislation about not murdering eachother. We make legislation to ensure our children go to school until a certain age. Is all our legislation just advice? Our people need govenment to ensure that companies and those who seek to earn an extra KED by stepping on the health and wellbeing of others are not allowed to do so. If all it took was good advice to deter this people, then we should replace govenment with a good high school guidance counselor. When it comes to the health and well being of our populace, would should enforce those guidelines that are being set forth. |

Message | Government has a responsibility to protect the nation. At the most basic level, this means protecting the lives and property of our citizens and the territorial integrity of the Grand Duchy. We must decide through vigorous debate whether enforcing health and safety legislation falls under the rubric of good government, or whether it constitutes socialist overreach. Finally, we must decide if government must act in areas where no other organization can act as well - for example, in providing a police force. Naturally, preventing and punishing murders counts. Education counts. Asking industry to be careful about where they store their white-out may be going a little too far. |

Message | You are correct there is a fine line between protection and socialst overreach. Forcing the industry to store their white out in their front office is overreach. Enforcing the industry to make their employees wear the safety equipment where needed is not. Forcing the industry to regulate their breathing by timing their intakes and breaths out is overreach. Enforcing the industry to use proper ventalitation when using harmful gaseous chemicals and products so their employees can breath is not. The goal of this legislation is not to bring the heavy hand of the govenment down on our industry with frivious laws and regulations. The goal is to enforce the set of health and safety standards that most of our industry agree are appropiate, but some skirt in order to make an extra buck of the lives and wellbeing of their employees. We have no fear that this legeslation will be used incorrectly, for the ruling parties of Keymon are balance and sensible. We know, from past example, that the health and safety regulations will be fair and balance with the well being of our poplace in mind, not heavy handed to display government power. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
