Bill: Copyright Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertarian Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2063
Description[?]:
It has been argued that technology and arts should not be copyrighted forever. We share this opinon and propose the limit on age of copy rights. Limits on art: Books - 50 years after author's death Music - 50 years after author's death Other art - 50 years after author's death Limits on technology: Limit applies on software works only - 10 years after first release , if not set lower or none by the author, if this is the case, then the latter override the 10 years limit (accepting the speed of development as defined by Moore's law, 10 years old program/software is not really of a commercial interest, we argue) Software patents are forbidden by other law. All works are treated as public domain after expiration of limits and are publicly available for no charge. There could be a fee for physical copying however not to exceed the value of materials used. |

Article 1

Message | Yes, I believe in this case the middle ground is best in that it encourages innovation - the artist isnt being ripped off, and the restrictions arent too strict. |

Random quote: "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, from those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children." - Dwight D. Eisenhower |
