Description[?]:
Riccardo Morelli, Whip of LP: "Mr Speaker, collegues... Istalia is a great power on the international stage, it is true, but just for this reason we think we should also set an example for a future in the spirit of peace, international cooperation and diplomatic ways to solve the problems between the nations. However, we are consciouss of the fact that a world without conflicts and wars is still far, but at least, we can try to intervene to contrast the most terrible aspects of the war, limiting the use of that devices and strategies which can cause the most horribles effects. But we are not talking about the nuclear arsenal of the country, because its first role is the deterrent one, the most important role which such devices have for us. But, there are other devices and weapons that Istalia don't needs to continue to affirme its position on the world, first of all the chemical and biological weapons and then the land mines. Three kind of weapons that are absolutely the worst devices deployable which effects goes beyond any strategic or tactic logic, causing useless damages and generating problems which can persist for years after the conflict. But, furthermore, Istalia can also set an example on how approach the defence matter, an approach which should be aimed to the improves of diplomacy and peaceful ways to solve the interantional problems. And due to the stability and security assured by the agreement between Istalia and Vanuku, we thinks that our country doesn't need anymore some of the current military laws, like the National service. Finally, Istalia should set an example also on the field of the weapons proliferation, at least banning the possibility to sell nuclear or biological or chemical weapons to other nations or organizations, to avoid the risk to arm enemies, rogue nations, terrorists and so on. We hope Istalian political forces will be able to support this bill as sign of civilizations and as veritable gesture of a world's leader. Thank you" |
