Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, I rose in this house seven years ago, when the government first voted to for C-104, reducing the corporate tax rate from 5% to 1%. I asked then, of the short-sighted policy endorsed by New Dawn and proposed by the Centre Party, "How will the government return to balance and budgetary harmony?" I gave two options which I thought the government would pursue: austerity or income tax increases. I did not foresee that laziness and inattention to the basic functions of our government would give rise to a third option: doing nothing. With the new Finance Minister being sworn in this year, we must ask: Will the minister continue to leave the largest social and economic burden in the past 50 years in the backpacks of the future generations? It's time that we revert these regressive tax cuts so that we can properly fund our government without plunging our children billions of shapirs into debt. We call on the Finance Minister to immediately put forward budgetary changes to revert the damage that their caucus helped to create eight years ago!
