The Sunflower Coalition is a pro-democracy political party in the State of Indrala, originally founded to oppose the Taiyuan dictatorship that once ruled over the country. While it is generally classified as centrist, with a minor left lean, in terms of Indralan politics, the party is big tent, drawing voters from across the ideological spectrum. True to its name as a coalition, the party is actually highly factionalized, with certain blocs often seeking a different vote than others. Such conflicts are often solved with a simple majority vote of the party's delegation to the legislature. The largest of these groups is the Peony Caucus, a largely liberal-leaning group, which current Party Speaker Chen Mingzhu is a members. Following this ideological plurality, many of the coalition’s voters are derived from the dissolved Bamboo-Left Coalition, old Lotus Party, and New Dawn. The Sunflower Coalition's floral symbolism has two meanings, one representing the traditional Indralan folk beliefs of fortune and life, and the other representing the Sun Clan, whose claim to the throne the coalition supports.

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃:
The Bamboo-Left Coalition was a centre-left to left political party in Indrala that branched off of its predecessor the Social Democratic Party. Founded by Ms. Hua Feihong, its rebranding reinvigorated the base, allowing it to gain a larger seat share after years of lagging electoral performance as the SDP. The party took the bamboo as its symbol, representing its ability to be flexible in ideology, following the will of the people.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically
