Bill: The length of a legislative and executive term changes - ACT 4350
Details
Submitted by[?]: Communist Workers Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 4351
Description[?]:
From 42 to 30. That change is needed, it would allow a more fluid stable political climate, so the people will vote more often and newer parties will participate in elections much sooner, OOC:- instead of requesting for a early election, which may take a while to pass anyway or never at all. So you have to wait a bit longer and becomes boring. |

Message | OOC: 42 months is exactly one week so it is easier to remember when elections occur in my opinion but it would allow for faster game play. I don’t much care either way. IC: The PPH can see arguments for against this measure. We will wait to see how our coalition partners feel before committing our votes. |

Message | OOC: We are a bit concerned that 30 months do not leave enough time for legislation to pass unless you happen to put it forward just after an election. Are we broadly in line with other states or is our term length longer? |

Message | OOC: The KPH is correct in as far as legislation, I did not think about that as well. It also looks like about half of the other countries either have a 42 or 48 month long legislature as well. I feel that our current length makes it easier to plan out legislation as well since 42 months is roughly equivalent to one week in real world time. |
